High Tech Products of War and Space

It is a fair question to ask, "what has the space program or war effort done for me?" The answers are remarkable. First the space program products; semiconductor cubing, air quality monitors, virtual reality. NASA developed research allows a user to virtually project themselves into a video game with head motions and hand motion.

Advanced keyboards for computers, enriched baby food, scratch resistant lenses, pool purification, ribbed swimsuits, portable coolers and warmers, athletic shoes, shock-absorbing helmets, home security systems, hang gliders, trash compactors and flat panel television. That is a pretty impressive list. For all the golf enthusiast out there, a NASA designed golf ball with 500 dimples arranged in a pattern of 60 spherical triangles, creates a perfectly symmetrical ball surface sustaining velocity longer then previous golf balls.

The war efforts although controversial and violent in nature have contributed many products we use on a daily basis also. The first being in the area of medicine. Medical advances have come from front line hospitals looking for quick ways to save lives. An example of this is using super glue for wounds instead of using stitches. It is a cleaner, faster method and is now used in hospitals around the country. Rugged portable computer systems along with much technology comes from the war efforts.

Durable clothing for outdoor enthusiast like hunters, campers, climbers and hikers. Synthetic, quick drying clothing, warm and breathable, or cool and comfortable. Advanced weaponry, artillery, the Hummer along with many other all terrain vehicles, freeze dried food that outdoor enthusiast also enjoy. The list is long, the cost is high.
